Questions
What counts as a cloud minute?
One minute of audio sent to cloud transcription. A 90-second clip uses 1.5 minutes. Editing, previewing and exporting never use minutes, and neither does on-device transcription.
Cloud or on-device: which should I use?
Cloud (ElevenLabs Scribe v2) is more accurate with accents, music under the voice and fast talkers, and supports 90+ languages. On-device runs a Whisper model in your browser for free; it works best on clear speech and downloads about 80 MB the first time.
What happens when I run out of minutes?
Cloud transcription pauses until your next billing period, and on-device transcription keeps working. You can also switch to a bigger plan at any time.
Do you store my videos?
No. Video is rendered in your browser and never uploaded. For cloud transcription only the audio track is uploaded, and it's deleted right after the words come back. On Creator and Pro, project text and styles sync to your account so you can continue on another computer.
Which editors can import the transparent overlay?
The MOV export uses the PNG codec with an alpha channel, a QuickTime format read by Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The WebM export uses VP9 with alpha for CapCut, OBS and web players.
How does billing and VAT work?
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and handles VAT and sales tax for your country. You can cancel anytime from your account page; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
